Weather conditions

The changing Danish climate is always a good topic of conversation! Many Danes would prefer more settled weather conditions, but visiting foreigners often find the Danish climate charming.
During the HOPE programme, it is spring in Denmark with average temperatures around 15 Celsius - typically a mix between sun and rain.

Accommodation and meals

Accommodation will be provided free of charge to all healthcare professionals at staff residences close to hospitals, patient hotels, or similar. 

The accommodation consists of a small bedroom with linen, bathroom/shower and kitchen facilities. A washing machine is available at some of the host hospitals. The participants may have to share toilet and bathroom facilities.

Information concerning meals, laundry service, and accommodation will forwarded by the individual host hospital coordinators.

Transportation in Denmark

The host hospital will provide transport when it is necessary for the healthcare professionals to go from one area to another within the region of the host hospital in accordance with the programme.


The healthcare professionals have to arrange and pay for their own transportation when needed between the different destinations in Denmark, as well as for transportation outside the programme.


The transportation costs are estimated be to Dkk 1000 – Dkk 1800 per person (from 150 to 250€).

Language

Danish is the spoken language in Denmark. Most Danes understand and speak English. For healthcare professionals in the HOPE programme, it is essential to have good knowledge of oral and written English. English at conversation level is a must for all participants in order to benefit from the HOPE programme.
