Self- and home-monitoring
Today, telemedical self- and home-monitoring has become an integral part of daily operations in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Aarhus University Hospital. Pregnant individuals with complications are offered the option of home monitoring instead of prolonged hospitalization or frequent outpatient visits. This approach prioritizes the patient, saving staff time while maintaining high-quality care.
The pregnant individuals measure their blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and blood oxygen saturation (TOCs) on a daily basis using the telemedical solution. Within the solution, pregnant individuals can also respond to questions about their well-being, such as dizziness or pain.
Pregnant individuals with complications who are already using telemedicine continue to submit data even if they are briefly hospitalized. This not only saves staff time but also allows the pregnant individuals to keep track of their measurements as usual.
